Etude House Invites Princesses and Families to Run for Fun, 25 May 2014

Here's a fun run event not only for the princesses out there but also for athletes, celebrities, health buffs, men, women, students, cosplayers, and families! Etude Princess Run features 3K, 5K, 10K race categories happening on May 25, 2014 at 5 AM at 34th corner 9th avenue, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City.  Race registration started last March 15 and will end on April 15.  Entry fees are P 600 for the 3K and 5K distances and P 800 for the 10K category inclusive of a race singlet, bib, and race map.  

“We encourage men, women, students, professionals, athletes, celebrities, health buffs and even, cosplayers to sign up and participate in the Etude House Princess Run. We want to bring together Filipino families for this fun event. We hope to see everyone enjoying with their loved ones on May 25,” said Etude House Philippines President Andrea Amado.

Online registration is available at www.etudehouse.com.ph. Payments are accepted at four (4) Etude House branches: SM North EDSA, Eastwood Mall, SM Southmall and Glorietta 3. The race kit can be redeemed once payment is done in the stores.

Etude House Pink Member Card Holders get 100 off from the registration fee and will receive tutu skirts in their race kits to wear during the event.

Cosplayers are also encouraged to enter the 3K category and run in their favorite costumes with their rubber shoes. They also get P100 off the registration fee. “For extra fun, we want cosplayers to join. They can wear head gears, accessories and colorful costumes. The more creative, the better,” added Amado.

Prizes Fit For Royals

Etude Princess Run participants will get the chance to win exciting prizes. Top 3 males and females from each category will receive products from Etude House, medals and Gold’s Gym membership.

Finishers will also receive a special passport which will be used as passes to the Etude Pink Fair where they can enjoy fun activities and game booths. The passport will also entitle them to special gifts and exciting freebies.

Proceeds will support the YesPinoy Foundation, an organization headed by actor Dingdong Dantes, Jr. that rally all Filipinos, of all ages and from all sectors and background, to support diverse advocacies and programs. The foundation aims to empower Filipinos to help those in need and to contribute effectively and efficiently.

One Chair, One Child #UpuanParaSaKinabukasan is YesPinoy Foundation and Lifeline Foundation Support Team, Inc., partnership to rebuild and equip a school in a community devastated by Super Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) in November last year.

Estancia, a second-class municipality in northern Iloilo, is about 135 kilometers from Iloilo City. It is known as "the Alaska of the Philippines" because of its rich and diverse marine life. However, due to overfishing, pollution and dangerous fishing methods, the waters of Estancia have of late failed to produce as much as they did in years past. The whole municipality has suffered because of this.

Different areas of Estancia were badly affected by Yolanda. For, example, the storm was so powerful that the roof of Northern Iloilo Polytechnic State College was completely blown off.

One building that was severely damaged was Estancia Central Elementary School, where more than 3,000 children study. They have endeavored to continue with their education, in spite of the terrible destruction, determined to fix their flood-ruined schoolbooks and other materials. They went back to school on November 25, 2013, among the ruins of their building. Surely, however, they deserve better.

Jose Sixto "Dingdong" Dantes, actor and founder of YesPinoy Foundation, is originally from Iloilo, and has been spearheading efforts to relief and rehabilitation in Estancia since mid-November, the first week after Yolanda struck.

One of the things that Dingdong committed to the people of Estancia is to rebuild Estancia Central Elementary School, this will be ready by June 2014. Yes!Pinoy Foundation has donated P 1,636,164.66 to the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) for the construction of the school.

At the same time, we at Lifeline Foundation Support Team, Inc., have been increasingly aware of the need for different NGOs and CSOs to collaborate and work hand in hand in the process of rebuilding Yolanda affected areas. The magnitude of work is enormous, and no organization can do it alone. Since one of our key advocacies is education, when we were approached by Dingdong to partner with them in this project, our immediate response was, "Yes!" And so "One Child, One Chair" was born.  

Who knows who'll be sitting in these chairs one day? It could be a scientist who cures HIV/AIDS or a certain kind of cancer. It could be a peace-maker who solves our decades-long problems in Mindanao. It could even be a future President of the Republic of the Philippines. Education is the seat of the country's future. What a privilege to be able to say, "I supported the seat of my country's future!”

Lifeline Foundation Support Team, Inc. and Yes!Pinoy Foundation are partnering together to raise funds for the 3000 chairs needed for the new Estancia Central Elementary School. Anyone can give toward one, two or even more chairs so the students in Estancia Central Elementary School can have his or her very own chair!

We appeal not only to Filipinos all over the world, but also to those who are like-minded, who believe that education is the greatest leveler. It gives children everywhere an opportunity to grow to their full potential so they can have the best future possible. Education truly is an investment into the future.
