Running and Enjoying the Sun Through Playing Frisbee

I had my taste of ultimate frisbee during my 5th grade. Then sometime in 2003, I've met some friends who were into disc playing. Some are well-known TV personalities even up to this time.

While I was running along Kalayaan, Rockwell area, I bumped into one of Philippine Ultimate Association's (PUA) members and he invited me to play with his group but I declined as I was into my marathon training. Ultimate frisbee is a game where your stamina in running and skill in throwing a disc are tested.

Anyhow, I got an invite from Carmen of Takbo.ph informing me that she's interested to learn frisbee by attending Nestea's Camp Hot. So, we both agreed to go to Bonifacio High Street, the venue of the event, to check out the camp's activities. Ultimate frisbee is one of its events. I brought with me one of my discs.

We arrived there more or less two hours ahead of our meeting time. We registered first by paying a minimal amount and got some freebies like free Nestea tumbler filled with cold iced tea. One can avail of free refill any time, too!

It was really hot yesterday, Saturday, but it didn't stop us to practice throwing a disc.

I had fun time during the drills and played with different teams twice. Indeed, it was an afternoon well spent with newfound friends. I realized that running back and forth on the field wasn't that tiring at all. Running, in fact, helped me get through with the game. So what's next? Hhhmm, might try hip-hop.

A million thanks to Carmen C. for the photos!
