One of the most memorable races I couldn't forget in 2008 was the New Balance 25k Power Race which was held in Clark, Pampanga. It was the longest distance I've ever ran. For the first time runners wore timing chips to get accurate results of their time. In addition, finisher medals were also given to all runners.
This year, NB is raising the bar again by bringing the race to Manila which will take place on September 27, 2009 at the Fort Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. It will feature 21k, 10k, 5k, and 3k with registration fees of Php 500 for the 21k, Php 350 for the 10k, Php 300 for the 5k and Php 250 for the 3k category. The first 500 to register for the 3k run will get a NB Power Run-Dole t-shirt while finisher medals await participants of the 5k, 10k and 21k.
The proceeds of the race will support Philippine Cancer Society’s endeavor to reach 25,000 participants for the Lecture Series, about 15,000 women for breast and cervical examinations and schools for youth anti-smoking campaign in 2010.
It will also benefit Carewell Community’s program to help people with cancer and their families cope more effectively with cancer by providing support groups and counseling, medical consult and referrals, wellness talks and fun activities.
For ICanServe, the Power Run will aid the Ating Dibdibin project, a community-based screening program that promotes breast cancer awareness, early detection and support for of breast cancer patients.
NBx1225 and NBx758 for Better Running Performance

New Balance 1225, a high mileage trainer for runners who require moderate stability with exceptional cushioning. It features two all-new NB technologies, N-ergy and Stabilicore.

ABZORB® cushioning combined with ABZORB® FL and an Ortholite® insert ensure a comfortable, cushioned ride, while an NLOCK® support system provides enhanced mid-foot structure, and an Ndurance® heel crash pad offers durability. A Lightning Dry Phantom Liner™ offers moisture management and blister-free comfort, an Ortholite® insert ensures a cushioned ride, and the NB Sure Lace™ keeps shoes tied. 360° reflectivity ensures safety during early morning and evening runs. The 1225 is built on NB's new PL-1 performance last which provides a more form-fitting feel with a more streamlined look.
New Balance 758, a training shoe designed to provide dedicated and new runners alike with a lightweight, responsive, and cushioned ride.

ReplyDeleteHello again running diva. I just want to share my disappointment with the singlets given by NB. My friend went to divisoria yesterday and bought two singlets. I was surprised when i saw the two he bought. It was the same yellow and red singlets given by NB for their 5 and 10k. And it's only P35 each..
ReplyDeleteYah, we do run for a cause, but for top sportsbrand like NB they should give us naman something na hindi tau agrabyadong agrabyado.
I hope you can share this thought to some organizers you know.. thank you.
Jessy thank you for your comment. I will try my best to bring this up to the organizer. Will update you soon.
